Show Highlights and Special Events

First and foremost, the Charleston Boat Show has boats…hundreds of them. 

That’s why this show is has earned the reputation of the biggest and best boat show in the Lowcountry, featuring the region’s premier boat dealers offering new models from all of the marine industry’s top lines, along with boating-related accessories and services. Many of the dealers will be offering special deals to entice buyers during the show.

It’s also a family-friendly event, with food, hands-on workshops, entertainment and kids’ activities.  The 2012 program is in the process of being finalized, but highlights from the 2011 show include:

  • Coastal Fishing Expo: The Lowcountry’s top fishing guides teach tips, tricks and techniques for improving your catch rate.
  • Kids’ Fishing Clinic: Don Dingman, star of TV’s “Hook the Future,” shares his love of fishing with children and offers chances to win prizes, including fishing gear and accessories.
  • Pirate Shows:  Robin Burke of Creative Spark gives swashbuckling performances inside the Pirate Tent, with an opportunity for children to craft their own booty.
  • Kids Art Classes:   Children learn to make their own maritime art projects with Larry Rackley of Yellowfin Gallery.
  • Coast Guard Miami Boating Safety Trailer:  A resource for teaching the entire family about boating safety.
  • South Carolina DNR's Fishing Simulator:  A chance to test your fishing skills.
  • Fish Carvings:  Rick and Billy create marine masterpieces from wood with a chainsaw.
  • Lowcountry Boils offers Southern cuisine, including Frogmore stew, pulled pork sandwiches, and boiled peanuts.
  • Face painting and balloon art by Susan Fedor.
