Festival Highlights and Special Events

The Spice of Life Food & Fitness Fest is designed to inform, entertain and delight attendees with ideas and products to enhance their lifestyles. This two-day celebration of the good life will be packed with features from cooking lessons and innovative entertaining concepts to expert advice on wellness and green living.

In addition to hundreds of vendors sampling and selling products and services, the Spice of Life Food & Fitness Fest will feature dedicated stages and activity areas, including:

  • NUTRITION WORKSHOPS- On-going workshops teaching people how to make better food choices. Topics include “How to read food labels”, “Eat this, not that” and “Small steps to reducing calories”
  • TASTING GARDEN- This popular area will host on-going tastings of dark chocolates, imported cheeses, specialty foods and sauces, liqueurs, coffee, wines, craft beers and more.
  • SAVVY ENTERTAINER WORSHOP SERIES- This series will offer tips and advice for novice and experienced entertainers. Workshops will be led by local designers, stationers, floral experts and wine and food connoisseurs.
  • SPICE OF LIFE MARKET- Located between the Cooking Stage and Tasting Garden, the Spice of Life Market will showcase local farmers and specialty food vendors selling meats, produce, herbs, flowers and other fresh and local specialty food items.
  • SPICE OF LIFE STAGE- This high-energy stage will be located at the entrance of the festival and will feature an array of fitness demos, dance lessons, fashion shows and other performances.
  • CREATIVE COOKING STAGE- The Creative Cooking Stage will feature local farmers and chefs performing cooking demonstrations and presentations in a state-of-the-art kitchen provided by Ferguson. Viewers are encouraged to stick around as samples and recipes always follow.
  • GREEN LIVING WORKSHOPS- Upstate residents interested in learning ways to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle will want to take part in the Green Living Workshops. This series will explore a variety of topics relating to eating organic foods, composting, recycling, urban gardening and more.
  • COOKING SCHOOL sponsored by the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas- The Spice of Life Food & Fitness Fest wouldn’t be complete without hands-on cooking lessons from the top culinary school in the Upstate. Professors from the Culinary Institute of the Carolinas will be teaching healthy cooking classes for the whole family. In addition, this popular area will also feature a schedule of etiquette and manners classes hosted by Sybil Davis. Live kitchen provided by The Cook’s Station.
  • COACHES’ CORNER sponsored by Proaxis Therapy- Adults and big kid’s need to come prepared to play at the Coaches’ Corner. This interactive area will focus on a variety of sports and will offer one-on-one tips from local coaches.
  • FITNESS ZONE sponsored by The Imagine Center- A go-to place for fitness enthusiasts, the Fitness Zone will have an on-site gym and host fitness classes. On Saturday, there will be an indoor duathlon to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
  • OUTDOOR ADVENTURES- Outdoor Adventures will promote the Upstate’s endless outdoor resources. Within this area there will be camping and hiking clinics, along with vendors selling the latest in outdoor equipment.
  • JUST FOR KIDS sponsored by Earth Fare and YMCA of Greenville- Every child that attends the festival will have access to the Just for Kids area where they can learn how to make healthy snacks and perform fun and easy exercises. The goal is to teach children that it is not only important to be fit and healthy, but that it is also fun!
  • PET PAVILION- Pet lovers from all over the Upstate will have the opportunity to learn how to better care for their pets as well as shop for unique items such as organic pet food, designer collars and leashes, pet clothes, dog trainers, camps and much more. In addition, the Greenville Humane Society will host a pet fashion show that will hopefully lead to many successful pet adoptions following the event.
